Dog Shelter at Police Department

A shelter for the temporary holding of dogs was recently completed by a local Eagle Scout. The shelter is adjacent to the Police Department entrance and contains two kennels for lost dogs captured within Ohioville. A micro-chip scanner was obtained by the Police Department through a donation/grant and will be utilized whenever possible to reunite a dog with its owner.

Dogs that have been held longer than a few hours, or appear to need veterinarian intervention, will be transported to the Beaver County Humane Society. In events of extreme weather, a dog will be transported immediately to the Humane Society as the shelter does not provide climate control.

For inquiries regarding a lost dog, please call the Police station directly at (724) 643-4281 or Beaver County non-emergency dispatch at (724) 775-0880.
